As if the limited supply and miners hoarding what’s left of it are not enough, acquiring a graphics card would be a whole lot harder this 2021.
The China tariff exemptions have just expired, which means that many computer and gaming products, graphics cards included, will get a price increase.
ASUS has already confirmed that their GPU and motherboard products will get more expensive due to import tariffs and logistical complications.
Other vendors may also up the price of their products because of this. That includes MSI, Zotac, Gigabyte, and EVGA.
An ASUS executive confirmed that the price hike was due to the increase in cost for logistics, import tariffs, and even operating costs. ASUS assured customers that they actually did whatever they can and even worked closely with their supply and logistic partners to minimize the price increase as much as possible.
