The ongoing enhanced community quarantine in NCR Plus - due to the rise of COVID-19 cases in the region - prevents many of us from doing our traditional Visita Iglesia this Holy Week.
However, it shouldn't prevent us from being more prayerful during this time and from doing acts of charity that can help strengthen our faith while lifting others up.
As the leading end-to-end digital payments ecosystem enabler in the Philippines, PayMaya lets you conveniently send your donations to a chosen charitable institution and even to your own parish if they have an official PayMaya account.
Sending donations via PayMaya - even when you're at home protecting yourself and your loved ones from COVID-19 virus - is very easy.
1. Download and install PayMaya app on your Android smartphone or Apple iPhone.
2. Open a PayMaya account, log-in, and get your account verified so you can send money. Tap on the profile icon at the upper right corner of the homescreen to start the verification process. You will need a Government-issued ID for this and you will also have to take a selfie as part of the procedure.
3. Add money to your account directly through your online banking account (available for BPI, BDO, PNB, Unionbank, Maybank, AUB, Metrobank, RCBC) or using your debit or credit card. There's an icon on the app's homescreen for doing this.
4. Use your smartphone's web browser and go to donate.paymaya.com. There you will find a list of charitable groups that work with Paymaya to receive donations online. Just click on those you want to support and send money to.
5. For sending donations to your parish or any church of your choice, you will have to get their official PayMaya number or QR Code. Usually, you can get these from your church's social media accounts and websites. Then, just tap on "Send Money" on your PayMaya app's homescreen, key in the number or code, and send your donation.
According to PayMaya, Mary Immaculate Parish - Levitown, Baguio Cathedral, Basilica Minore del Santo Nino Cebu, Sacred Heart Cebu, Saint Joseph the Worker Parish Iloilo, Marian Orchard Faith Foundation Batangas, Caritas Manila, and Feast Ortigas are only some local parishes that have an official PayMaya account.
In fact, more than 80 churches and religious organizations in the Philippines have already adopted PayMaya’s end-to-end cashless solutions including Digital QR, PayMaya Checkout online payment gateway and digital invoicing solutions, allowing their parishioners and congregations to contribute to their mission using the scan-to-pay feature of the PayMaya app or via any Visa, Mastercard, and JCB credit, debit, and prepaid card.
To wrap up, let me quote PayMaya Founder and CEO - Mr. Orlando B. Vea, "Most aspects of our lives have been upended by the pandemic, but many sectors have found ways to continue delivering services. Our churches and religious organizations play an important role in our country's recovery and we are proud to empower them with innovative solutions that can help them stay connected with their congregations."
