Smartphone brands have been launching various 5G smartphones here in there. Interestingly, 5G technology no longer exclusive to high-end devices as we’ve seen a handful of mid-range 5G devices.

Unsurprisingly, Chinese-tech giant Huawei recently launched another mid-range 5G smartphone called the Huawei Maimang 9. Aside from the 5G connectivity, the device also features a MediaTek Dimensity 800 SoC, 6GB or 8GB of RAM, and a 128GB internal storage expandable up to 512GB. It also runs the latest EMUI 10.1 on Android 10.

In terms of photography, Huawei Maimang 9 comes with three cameras at the back. This includes a 64-megapixel main camera with f/1.89 lens, an 8-megapixel wide-angle sensor, and a 2-megapixel depth sensor with f/2.2 aperture. While upfront, the device uses a punch-hole display that houses the 16-megapixel selfie camera. It also features a large 6.8-inch Full HD+ screen with 1,080×2,400 pixels.

Its other features include a sound-mounted fingerprint scanner, a 3.5mm headphone jack, Bluetooth, gyroscope, and proximity sensor. Its battery capacity, on the other hand, is a decent 4,300mAh with 22.5W Fast Charging capacity.

The Huawei Maimang 9 with the base model (6GB+128GB) will retail in China for a price of CNY 2,199 (roughly Php15,990). Meanwhile, the 8GB+128GB version costs CNY 2,399 or around Php16,900 (before PH taxes). It is available in three uniquely-named color variants —Cherry Blossom, Forest of the Forest, and Phantom Night Black.

No word yet if the smartphone will be available in the Philippines. However, some reports say that the Maimang 9 could arrive as the Huawei Enjoy 20s internationally. Stay tuned for more news and updates.
