With the new normal, affordable laptops became popular for home school and work. But if you want something extra, say, for gaming and photo/video editing on the side, you can check out the new Huawei MateBook D 14 that just came out in the Philippines.
The Huawei MateBook D 14 is available in two models: there’s the AMD Ryzen 5 3500U model with a Radeon Vega 8 graphics, and a Ryzen 7 3700U variant with RX Vega 10 GPU. It also comes with a Shark Fin 2.0 fan design to handle the thermals, 8GB of RAM DDR4, and 512GB of PCIe SSD.
As the name suggests, it comes with a 14-inch FullView IPS screen with a 1920 x 1080 pixel resolution. You can open the lid flat at 180-degrees. It’s also very compact and portable with its 1.38kg weight and thinness of only 15.9mm. You can get it in Mystic Silver or Space Grey.
The Huawei MateBook D 14 has a 2W stereo speaker setup and two microphones for video calls. MateBook-standard features are also present like the retractable webcam for privacy, fingerprint scanner for easy login, and Huawei Share that works seamlessly with the Huawei P40 Pro and other Huawei smartphones.
It also has a 56Wh battery that Huawei claims can let you watch 9.5 hours worth of FHD videos at a time.
For connectivity, the MateBook D 14 has 1x USB Type-C port for data and the 65W charger, 1x USB-A 3.0, 1x USB-A 2.0, HDMI, and 3.5mm headphone combo. It also has dual-band WiFi and Bluetooth 5.0.
The Huawei MateBook D 14 has a starting price of Php39,990 for the Ryzen 5 model while the Ryzen 7 variant retails for Php42,990. It’s available for pre-order starting June 29 to July 3, 2020. Reserved units will come with a FREE Huawei FreeLace wireless earphones, Huawei Mouse, and Huawei Backpack — freebies with a total worth of Php6,270.
If you want something more powerful, you can also get the MateBook X Pro for Php119,990, or the MatePad Pro if you want something cheaper and more portable.
