The release for the Huawei Nova 8 series was rumored to be this September. Now, the tech company confirmed that the devices’ exact release date.
In a post on the Chinese social media platform Weibo, the company confirmed that the Huawei Nova 8 series will come out on December 23. The post hints the design on the back, which will have a camera island in an oval shape.
The said camera glass will feature five different lenses. The largest one will be on the top, possibly a 48-megapixel or 64-megapixel sensor. The two smaller lenses will be in a 2×2 layout below it. It will most likely consist of an 8-megapixel ultra-wide and two 2-megapixel sensors.
Like in the Nova 7 series, the upcoming Nova 8 models will come in three flavors: the vanilla Nova 8, Nova 8 Pro, and the cheaper Nova 8i. They will be joining the Nova 8 SE, which has been around since November.
What’s interesting is, despite the US ban, it’s said that Huawei managed to rig the upcoming devices with Kirin processors.
The rest of the specs should be similar to the Nova 8 SE. There’s the OLED screen with HDR support, a UD fingerprint scanner, and at least a 4,000mAh battery. The Pro model should also have 66W fast charging, like the Mate 40 Pro.
