LG has launched in Central America and the Caribbean market the LG K42, a new midrange handset.

The LG K42 is equipped with a MediaTek Helio P22 processor, 3GB of RAM, and built-in storage of 64GB, which can be expanded through the microSD card slot. The smartphone also features a 6.6-inch HD+ display with a punch-hole, and the cutout is located in the middle of the screen. It runs on LG UX OS based on Android 10.

Android phones made by LG have always had good audio technology and the LG K42 won’t be any different. The Sound Engine is 3D, which according to the South Korean company will produce optimal sound quality. Also available on the handset is a 3.5mm audio jack, Bluetooth 5.0, and USB Type C port amongst other features.

Talking about the camera, the LG K42 comes with a quad rear camera setup which houses its 13-megapixel main camera, 5-megapixel super-wide-angle sensor, 2-megapixel depth camera, and a 2-megapixel macro lens. While on the front, you’ll find an 8-megapixel camera for selfies.

The LG K42 has one very important feature that will make it stand out, which is the MIL-STD-810G certification. This indicates the phone’s ability to endure environmental conditions that are extreme. For additional security, it is equipped with a side-mounted fingerprint sensor. It comes with an anti-scratch UV coating, and a wave pattern design at the rear panel. The battery capacity is 4,000mAh.

LG K42 comes in two color variants: Green and Grey, but the price and availability are yet to be revealed. The sale is expected to start soon in the Dominican Republic, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Honduras, Guatemala, Panama, and Nicaragua.
