League of Legends Wild Rift Minimum System Requirements, Tried and Tested - Android

Ever since Riot Games made the open beta version of League of Legends Wild Rift, the much-anticipated mobile version of the popular multiplayer online battle arena desktop game, available for public consumption last October 27, 2020, many of you have been messaging me with inquires about the minimum system requirements for the new title.

"What's the minimum amount of RAM for playing LOL Wild Rift?"

"My Android smartphone only has a four-core CPU. Will LOL Wild Rift run smoothly on my handset?"

"What's the RAM and ROM combo needed for LOL Wild Rift?"

These are only some of the questions you've sent me.

Well, humbly, since I have quite a collection of Android smartphones in my home office, I decided to try installing and playing League of Legends Wild Rift on some entry-level and former midrange models with less than 3GB of RAM just to check which of them would be able to run this new title well. A bit of an investigatory work for all of you.

Here's what I found out.

The game won't install on my Android smartphones running on Android Go and those with only 1GB of RAM. In fact, the game didn't even appear on Google Play Store when I searched for it.

In my collection, the one Android smartphone with rather "modest" specs that allowed me to run the game smoothly from start to victory was the Cherry Mobile Selfie 2 from 2018.

This handset has a 1.3 GHz Quad Core ARM Cortex A53 MediaTek MT6737 processor, a Mali-T720 MP2 GPU, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage, 5.2-inch HD IPS display, and Android 7.0 Nougat operating system.

Based on my own experience and personal testing, I would that the above-mentioned specs are the actual minimum system requirements of League of Legends Wild Rift, if you want to get more or less an enjoyable gaming experience. Although, I believe it's possible for the game to run on a device with 8GB of internal storage, provided there's more than enough space available.

The key to running LOL Wild Rift on handset with rather low technical specifications is to tweak the Graphics Settings until they match what your device is capable of delivering. I will show you how to do this on a separate TechPinas post so stay tuned for that!
