The National Task Force for the health crisis has a proposal that will allow minors — who don’t have the means to get access to gadgets and internet services — to enter computer and internet shops.

This will help the poor cope with the demands of online learning, even if they don’t have access to a computer and internet services at home.

Interior Secretary Eduardo Año, NTF vice chairman, said that the proposal would be presented and discussed with the Inter-Agency Task Force on the Management of the Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF-MEID).

Joint Task Force COVID Shield commander Pol. Lt. Gen. Guillermo Lorenzo Eleazar said that Secretary Año made the statement as he solicited for clarification if minor students would are allowed to go out and visit computer shops.

It’s said that the current guidelines prohibit minors from going and entering business establishments, which includes internet and computer shops. This rule is part of the implemented health safety measures that will help limit the virus’s spread.

Eleazar added that they would wait for the IATF’s decision regarding the proposal of turning computer shops into study spaces for online classes. Whatever the decision might be, he assured that the PNP and JFT COVID Shield would still implement the rules that would help limit the virus’s transmission.
