There are rumors surrounding that NVIDIA is gearing to release RTX 30 mobile series for high-end laptops this 2021.
The information was spotted by Twitter user @momo_us, which posted a link from Skikk, a PC maker based in the Netherlands that focuses on gaming machines. The webpage, which has been taken down since then, showcased laptops that are powered by unannounced RTX 30 series GPUs.

It appears that the laptops listed came with an RTX 3060 GPU with 6GB GDDR6 memory. There’s also some with RTX 3070 Max-Q with 8GB GDDR6, while top-tier laptops came with RTX 3080 Max-Q with 16GB GDDR6 of memory.
As of writing, the best GPUs that NVIDIA has for laptops are RTX 20 series cards like what the Samsung Notebook Odyssey, ROG Zephyrus S, and Lenovo Legion 5 laptops have.
We expect NVIDIA to release RTX 30 series mobile cards in CES 2021, which pushes through this January 11. If you’re in the market for a new top-tier laptop, you should really wait ’til these cards are released. Either get the laptops that have them or go with the RTX 20 series models, which shall have a price drop once newer models arrive.
