The Nokia brand is not just for smartphones nowadays as it is present in other types of devices, including audio. And one of the most recent products that arrived in the Philippines via Nokia brand-licensee RichGo Technology is the Nokia Essential TWS Earphones E3100. Check out our hands-on below.
One of the things you’ll notice about the Nokia Essential TWS Earphones E3100 is its youthful design. Our unit comes in two tones of blue but other color combinations are available: Black/Grey, Red/Pink, Orange/Green, and Cyan/Magenta.

The earbuds and the case are extremely light (4g for each earbud and 30g for the case) but well built and attractive. The colors actually remind us of the colors the brand used for their old Lumia smartphones. It also has an IPX3 rating, so it can withstand sweat and light splashes.

The E3100 package comes with the earbuds, charging case, USB-C charging cable, extra silicone tips, and manual. The TWS earphones and its case are made of plastic with a matte finish.

The TWS earphones have glossy buttons on the exterior for the music controls, answer/end calls, and to activate Siri or Google Assistant.

We can also see tiny holes on each earphone which light up to indicate pairing. Do note, though, that only the right earphone has a microphone for calls and voice commands. There’s no wear detection as well, so it won’t automatically pause your music when you take it off.

There are two ways to power on the E3100 earphones. You can simply lift them from the case and the LED indicators will light up. Go to your device’s Bluetooth settings and tap on the E3100. Alternatively, if you kept the earphones out of the case, just press and hold the buttons on each earbud for 2 seconds to switch it on. There’s no need for an app, so all you need to do is pair and use it.

In the ears, the E3100 is light and small enough to fill your concha without sticking out too much. The silicone tips, though, feel shallow as there are times that we feel that it doesn’t seal around the ear canal that much. But a few adjustments should get you that perfect fit.

Sound quality is surprisingly great for something priced at PHP 2K. The mids and highs are clear with plenty of detail and don’t sound harsh in higher volumes. The lows are delivered well enough to provide that deep rumbling in bass-heavy tracks. We’re not saying that you should ditch your premium TWS earphones for this one but we can say that the E3100 punches way above its weight class in terms of sound quality.

When it comes to battery, each earbud is equipped with a 45mAh battery, while the charging case has a 400mAh battery. Playback time is disappointing though at up to 2.5 hours and up to 10 hours with the charging case. Charging the earphones and the case takes about 2 hours.

The Nokia Essential TWS Earphones E3100 by RichGo is priced at PHP 1,999 and is available via its official Shopee page. It is also available at Youpoundit.com and mxmemoxpress.com, and will soon be available in Lazada. It will also be available in offline stores this month.
