Weather a design is good or not will depend on your preference. As you can see, the OPPO A12e has a shiny glass-like plastic material on the back that it inherited on the OPPO A3s from two years ago. It’s available in two contrasty colors: Red and Dark Purple.
It also has a relatively thick notch on the top of the 6.2-inch screen for the selfie camera.
We did say that design is subjective. But, most of you might agree than the Realme C3 looks better. It has a textured matte plastic on the back with micro patterns that adds to the overall look and feel in the hands. What’s better is, this is actually a completely new design from the same year, and not copied from a 2-year-old smartphone.
The Realme C3 is available in Blazing Red, Volcano Blue, and the newly released Volcano Grey. It also has a sturdier Gorilla Glass protection on the front, although the actual version used was not mentioned. It also has a smaller and less-distracting waterdrop notch.
Spoiler alert: this is one of the many wins that the Realme C3 has on this specs comparison.
As you can see in our specs table above, the Realme C3 has a 6.52-inch IPS screen, which is noticeably larger than the 6.2-inch display that the OPPO A12e. This will give you more room for playing games, multitasking, and make watching movies more immersive.
The Realme C3 boasts the latest MediaTek Helio G70 processor. This latest chipset was made for gaming smartphones on a budget. It did perform really well, as you can see on the the C3’s benchmark scores below.
On the other hand, the OPPO A12e still uses an aging Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 octa-core processor. It’s actually decent for the price, but a lot of newer and more powerful chipset has come out since then.
But to the A12e’s credit, it does come with 64GB of internal storage. That’s two times more than the 32GB capacity of the competition. Albeit, that’s something a microSD card can’t easily address.

Another win for the Realme C3. This one sports a 12-megapixel main camera with a brighter f/1.8 aperture and PDAF. On the other hand, the A12e uses a sketchy 13-megapixel main camera with a less impressive f/2.2 aperture.
The A12e only has a dual-camera setup, while the C3 has three. The other two are the standard 2-megapixel depth sensor; and a macro camera that’s missing on the A12e. Realme also has a Chroma Boost software feature that enhances images after you take it.
But for taking selfies, the OPPO device takes the lead with its sharper 8-megapixel selfie camera, while the latter only has 5-megapixels.
Realme managed to put a 5,000mAh battery on the C3, while the A12e only has 4,230mAh. With that, expect to get a couple more hours of screen-on time out of this device.
OPPO didn’t specifically mention what charger the OPPO A12e comes with, but we expect it to be at 10W too.
It looks like all the odds are on the Realme C3’s favor. As you can see, Realme also managed to put a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner on this. Meanwhile, the OPPO A12e only relies on face unlock.
The C3 also runs on the latest Android 10 with Realme UI interface on top. On the other hand, the A12e is stuck in the past with its Android 8.1 Oreo operating system. It didn’t even managed to get Android 9 Pie.
Well, we have a clear winner here. Going with the Realme C3 instead of the OPPO A12e is a no brainer. It sports a more refreshing design, larger screen, way faster processor, better cameras, a fingerprint scanner, and a bigger battery. All of that for the same price of Php5,990.
