Are you looking for a capable smartphone under Php25,000? This comparison is for you.

However, the device is facing tough competition with Realme, a fast-emerging smartphone brand from China.
Just recently, they released their first flagship phone in the Philippines, the Realme X3 SuperZoom, which is powered by last-gen’s flagship chipset, the Snapdragon 855 Plus.
Is the Snapdragon 855 Plus actually more powerful than the new Snapdragon 765G processor? Which between the two should you actually get? We find out in our OnePlus Nord versus Realme X3 SuperZoom specifications and features comparison.

Design is always subjective to every people. But with the OnePlus Nord and Realme X3 SuperZoom, the decision is a bit tougher since they look almost a like.
Both of them share the same layout on the back, with a clean paint job. The Realme logo is on the bottom right, while the OnePlus logo is in the middle.
Their back panels are free from the fingerprint scanner since the OnePlus Nord has it on the screen, while the X3 SuperZoom went with a side-mounted one.
Personally, we do prefer the look of the OnePlus Nord. It’s available in his unique Blue Marble color that looks really interesting in the eyes. It’s also noticeably more compact. It’s only 8.2mm thick and weighs only 184g, while the competition is at 8.9mm and 202g, respectively.
Plus, it comes with an aluminum body, while the latter is plastic. Although, both devices are sandwiched with Corning Gorilla Glass 5.
As you already know, the Realme X3 SuperZoom is a full-fledge flagship phone, and it shows on the screen. This thing sports a 6.6-inch display, which is bigger than the 6.44-inch panel of the latter. The 90Hz screen on the OnePlus Nord is impressive already, but the X3 SuperZoom steps it up further by having a smoother 120Hz panel.
The Realme device might have beaten OnePlus’s in speed, but the display on the latter offers better color. The Nord uses an AMOLED panel while the X3 SuperZoom only has IPS. It offers better vibrancy and contrast, plus, it has extra features like sRGB and P3 coverage.
Both handsets don’t have headphone jacks, but they do have super linear speakers. The X3 SuperZoom further boasts its flagship status with its Dolby Atmos and Hi-Res Audio support.
Here’s where things get interesting. As you know, the Realme X3 SuperZoom is powered by last generation’s flagship processor, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 Plus. It might be older now, but it’s still way more powerful than the Snapdragon 765G processor of the OnePlus Nord.
So if raw power is what you’re after, then going with the Realme X3 SuperZoom is a no-brainer. The best part is, for the same price, it also comes with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. On the downside, both phones lack a microSD card slot.
To the Snapdragon 765G’s credit, it does allowed the OnePlus Nord to have the next-gen connectivity features like 5G and Bluetooth 5.1. This device also comes with NFC for wireless payments and compatible accessories. But unless you’re location have 5G coverage or you want a future-proof device for when 5G goes mainstream, then there’s almost no point in getting one.
Both devices run on the latest Android 10 operating system. But, it appears that the OxygenOS 10 of OnePlus looks cleaner and more simplified than the Realme UI.

As the name suggests, the main highlight of the Realme X3 SuperZoom is its telephoto camera. This thing boasts an 8-megapixel sensor with a periscope lens that provides 5x of optical zoom and up to 60x of digital magnification. It has OIS to assist you in getting really close while handheld.
It also has a sharper 64-megapixel main camera than the 48-megapixel sensor on the latter. But to OnePlus Nord’s credit, it does have a brighter f/1.7 aperture and an OIS to help you take better pictures at night.
The two also share the same 32-megapixel main camera and 8-megapixel ultra-wide for taking group photos. Still, the Realme X3 SuperZoom clearly takes the win on this round.
The OnePlus Nord has a 4,115mAh battery while the Realme X3 SuperZoom has 4,200mAh. That’s almost the same capacity, but considering that the latter has a faster refresh rate and a more powerful processor, expect to get shorter hours with the Realme device.
Charging speeds should also be the same. OnePlus promises that the Warp Charge 30T can provide a 70% charge in under a minute, while Realme claims a full charge will only take 55 minutes.
We’ll be updating this article once the official Philippine price of the OnePlus Nord has been announced. But, rumor has it that it will have a starting price of Php22,000 for the 8GB/128GB model, while the 12GB/256GB variant will be at around Php25,000.
On the other hand, the Realme X3 SuperZoom is available in the Philippines with the same 12GB/256GB configuration for the same price of Php24,990. With that, it goes without saying that you’re better off with the Realme device.
For the same price, you’re getting a flagship processor, larger and smoother screen, and better cameras. Although, it lacks 5G connectivity, the only main highlight of the OnePlus Nord. You can learn more about it in our full review.
