Xiaomi sub-brand POCO released its second device for the month of September. Meet the POCO M2.
Released just days after the X3 NFC, the POCO M2 is powered by an entry-level MediaTek Helio G80 octa-core processor, with a quite generous 6GB of RAM and an option between 64GB and 128GB of storage.
Unlike the POCO M2 Pro, this one is straightforward, in terms of specs and design. We have a 6.53-inch FHD+ display on the front, with a waterdrop notch on the top for the 8-megapixel selfie camera.
The design on the back is quite similar to the Redmi 9. There’s a strip of glass in the middle for the quad cameras, led by a 13-megapixel and 8-megapixel ultra-wide, and the rear-mounted fingerprint scanner obscured as the fourth camera.
It may have a boring design, but it does have a P2i water-repelling nanocoating for extra peace of mind.
Meanwhile, keeping the lights on is a generous 5,000mAh battery. It can support 18W chargers, but only a 10W adapter is included in the box.
The POCO M2 has an official price of INR10,999 (around Php7,300) for the 6GB/64GB model, while the 6GB/128GB costs INR12,499 (around Php8,300). It will be available in India starting September 15 through the e-commerce site Flipkart.
It may not technically arrive in the Philippine because, if you haven’t noticed by now, it’s just a rebranded version of the Redmi 9 (only with a slightly different design and higher RAM/storage), which is already in PH since June.
