Globe Telecom and the local government of Pasig have teamed up to create the KonekTayo WiFi service, which will take advantage of the former’s GoWiFi offering.
Pasig City Mayor Vico Sotto made the announcement on his official Facebook page. It’s said that GoWiFi and KonekTayo WiFI is now available in the City Hall, Plaza Bonifacio, Plaza Rizal, Pasig public hospitals, and more locations in the future.
An official from Globe explained to Sotto that the city’s slow signal coverage from the past was due to “difficult process, red tape”. This should have been fixed by now as the Philippine government has made it easier to acquire permits for building cell towers.
Mayor Sotto also said that they are working hard to become more friendly to businesses by streamlining processes, especially in acquiring permits.

Pasig City is just one of the 2,800 GoWiFi locations across the country, which can offer up to 100Mbps of high-speed internet. For Pasig KonekTayo, you can get 5GB of data for as low as Php50.
