The Department of Science and Technology has showcased four innovations made to help the government and the frontliners battle against the coronavirus pandemic.
As the local government units implement the usage of disinfection booths & mists, temperature checks, alcohol stations, and testing, the Philippine Council for Industry, Energy & Emerging Technology Research and Development led by Filipino scientists built ‘proudly Pinoy’ technologies.
Dr. Enrico Paringit, DOST-PCIEERD’s Executive Director has emphasized his great optimism about the project since it is spearheaded and developed by our fellow Filipino people with their dedication & passion to bridge the government’s advocacy to combat the virus with the means of science & technology.
With the partner companies funding these innovations, the team aims to bring them in all regions and communities in the Philippines.
Created by USHER Tech Inc, this mobile chamber for disinfection is made to be installed at the entrance of establishments. It uses Anolyte, a solution made for electrolyzed saline that DOST themselves recommended for bacterial and viral lethal disinfection. It is pointed out that the chemical is safe for the environment and the people who will be going inside the disinfection chamber.
Currently, there are 11 chamber units used across Metro Manila. Some of which are installed in the Lung Center of the Philippines, Camp Crame, and the Developmental Bank of the Philippines. The team has highlighted that they can produce for up to five system units every week.
Made as an online-based geographic software, TrAMS+ can track information about the medical resources, health facilities, and COVID-19 volunteered & crowdsourced information. The system is designed to be the government’s best solution for the effective distribution of the on-demand medical materials and other helpful resources.

It has been tested by the DOST last 6th of April and got a positive reception from Pasig Doctors Medical Center and UST Hospital. In addition, the team has mentioned that they can craft a single LISA robot for about five days where they are targeting to produce at least four units for every partner hospital before the end of this year.
Serving as a digital portal between the government and the citizens of a community, the Project RAMDAM is a website and an app-based communication platform. The software will ensure that the residents of a specific local government unit will be sharing the most precise and updated information regarding the aiding efforts of the government such as cash assistance and relief goods distribution.
Urbanized by the Geographic Innovations for Development Solution, (GrIDS) Inc., the system will provide LGU’s monitoring and data management as well as feedback regarding the progress of each government-funded project. Initially, the database has been tested in various communities in Los Banos, Laguna to check for its prototype bugs and recommendation for its implementation nationwide.
