Realme has unveiled its latest mid-range devices for 2020 — the Realme 6 and 6 Pro.
The Realme 6 and Realme 6 Pro arrived just months after its predecessors. But despite the short time they had to develop these devices, it’s surprising to see Realme already coming up with new and unique features — especially on the design department.
But besides their new looks, the two also gained new and exciting features — from a more powerful processor, faster displays, and even faster charging technology.
The question is, how different are these devices from each other? We find out in our Realme 6 versus Realme 6 Pro specifications and features comparison.

As you just saw, both the Realme 6 and 6 Pro are really great devices for what they offer.
The two phones have the same 90Hz refresh rate, which will make them more responsive, with games looking smoother at higher frame rates. Although, the Pro model is slightly bigger at 6.6-inches, versus the 6.5-inches on the former.
They also have the same 4,300mAh battery, with ultra-fast 30W Flash Charge. Realme also used a side-mounted fingerprint scanner for a cleaner look.
Speaking of looks, the Realme 6 and Realme 6 Pro have updated designs. The Realme 6 has a ‘Striking Comet’ look, while the Pro model has a different ‘Lightning’ design. It will help you distinguish them from each other, unlike the similarly-dressed Realme 5 and 5 Pro.
What the Realme 6 series inherited from its predecessors is the splash-resistant coating. It may not have an IPx rating, but water protection — no matter how minor — is still a big plus for budget devices like these.
Oh, and for those who are worried, both devices also have USB Type-C port. Finally, the Realme “number” series has moved on from microUSB.
Let’s now answer the question: what are the differences between the two?
For starters, there’s the aforementioned difference in display size. But besides being bigger, the Realme 6 Pro has a Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection. The non-Pro model also has Gorilla Glass. However, the exact version was not specified, so we suspect it’s a lower generation.

We also have the cameras. The Pro model gets to have a 12-megapixel telephoto camera, while the standard settles for a 2-megapixel portrait sensor. On the upside, they both share the same 64-megapixel, 8-megapixel ultra-wide, and 2-megapixel macro cameras.
Both handsets also have 16-megapixel selfie cameras. However, the Pro model has an extra 8-megapixel ultra-wide for group shots. This results in a wider punch-hole on the screen — another noticeable difference in the design.
The Realme 6 Pro also has other smaller advantages like a 120fps slow-mo recording, Nightscape 3.0, India’s NAVIC GPS, and better audio features like Dolby Atmos, Hi-Res Audio, and loud Super linear speakers.

Their most controversial difference is the processor used. The cheaper Realme 6 is powered by a MediaTek Helio G90T processor. A chipset that is, based on tons of performance reviews and benchmarks, more powerful than the Snapdragon 730G.
Meanwhile, the Realme 6 Pro is the first to come with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 720G. If we based on the branding, the 720G is inferior to the 730G. This ultimately means that the Helio G90T is superior to the Snapdragon 720G.
But, we can never know for sure, since the Snapdragon 720G is still a new chipset, we have to wait for its benchmark scores and performance reviews. We’ll be updating this article once we get our hands on both devices.
Bottom line is, it seems like the Realme 6 poses better value for the price. After all, it has the same 90Hz display, primary cameras, large battery, fast charging, and a proven reliable processor — all of which are at a more affordable price tag.
But if you care about fancy features, like an extra ultra-wide selfie camera, telephoto lens, and a bigger and sturdier display, then going with the Realme 6 Pro is not a bad idea either.
