We’re only a couple of weeks until the big Samsung Unpacked event.
The Samsung Unpacked 2020 will be a live stream-only event happening on August 5. It will be the stage for the release of the Galaxy Note 20 series, Galaxy Z Fold 2, Galaxy Z Flip 2, and a couple of accessories like the new Galaxy Buds and Galaxy Watch 3.
But before already its release, the prices for the foldable smartphones have been leaked. A report from South Korean outlet ETNews reveals that the Galaxy Z Flip 2 will have the same retail price as the original Galaxy Z Flip, which retails for KRW1.65 million in Korea and Php79,990 here in the Philippines.
This is good news since the newer model is expected to come with a 5G connectivity, hinting that it could come with the newer Snapdragon 865 or 865 Plus processor. That’s an upgrade over the Snapdragon 855 Plus of its predecessor.
On the other hand, the renamed Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 2 will also inherit the same price tag of the first Galaxy Fold, which is at KRW2.39 million in Korea and Php109,990 here in the Philippines.
It’s expected to come with a couple of upgrades like an improved build for better durability, 120Hz screen, better S-Pen support, and possibly a Snapdragon 865 processor for that 5G connectivity.
Again, these are just leaks and rumors. But considering that Samsung’s new Galaxy S and Note releases usually inherit the prices of their predecessors, having the same scenario on their foldable releases is highly plausible.
