Smartphone Processor Power Score Rankings, Released by AnTuTu - Android

AnTuTu, the company behind the popular smartphone benchmark test application, has just released its mobile processor rankings based on the CPU and GPU AnTuTu scores of popular handsets released from as far back 2015 all the way to the first half of 2020.

Based on their list, the most powerful mobile chipset as of May 2020 is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 865, which powers many flagship-level smartphones this year including Realme X50 Pro, the US and European versions of Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra and S20 Plus, Xiaomi Mi 10 and Mi 10 Pro, Sony Xperia 1 II, Black Shark 3, Oppo Find X2, and Xiaomi Redmi K30 Pro, among others.

The second most powerful smartphone processor in this list is the Samsung Exynos 997, which is at the heart of the Korean Giant's 2020 Galaxy S20 Series in the entire Asian region, which of course includes the Philippines.

Smartphone Processor Power Score Rank

Interestingly enough, Apple's current A13 Bionic mobile processor that powers the Apple iPhone 11, Pro, and Apple iPhone 11 Pro Max is not included in AnTuTu's rankings. However, I did my research and I found out that its average score of 459,000 to 481,000 is typically lower than the average mark of Exynos 990 in the area of 534,000 but higher than that of the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 Plus at around 424,000.

Qualcomm Snapdragon 855+, which is inside the Vivo NEX 3, Samsung Galaxy Z Flip, OnePlus 7T, and Asus ROG Phone 2 among others, is ranked higher than Kirin 990 5G that powers Huawei P40 Pro and Huawei Mate 30 5G.

Amazingly, Dimensity 1000L by Taiwanese chipset-maker MediaTek was able to make it to the Top 10 with its average score in the area of 407,000. The feature-packed OPPO Reno 3 5G is one of the first smartphones to be powered by this CPU.

Please note that Qualcomm and Samsung's nomenclature or naming system for their Snapdragon and Exynos processors is a bit confusing. It doesn't always follow that a higher number means better overall performance -- so you have to be careful. I myself had to double-check the names of these chipsets when typing this list.

Also, keep in mind that this list is based only on the CPU and GPU performance of handsets running on these processors. It doesn't take into account the AI or Artificial Intelligence capabilities of chipsets, which is fast becoming an essential aspect of smartphones moving forward.
