Last year, OPPO, Vivo and Xiaomi formed the Peer-to-Peer Transmission Alliance transfer alliance to develop a cross-brand file transfer service. The alliance has just gotten bigger, adding Realme, OnePlus, Black Shark, and Meizu into the mix.

With the addition of the four companies, the cross-brand file transfer protocol will soon support and benefit over 400 million users wordwide.

The new service rolled out early last February. The file transfer system will allow smartphones and devices from all seven brands to send files to each another without the need for any third-party applications. It supports multiple file formats including photos, videos, music, and documents, with transfer speeds of over 20Mbps.

At this point, it wasn’t yet revealed when devices from Realme, OnePlus, Black Shark, and Meizu will implement the service. But it will come soon in an OTA update.
