Affordable smartphones don’t have to look good, but thankfully they do. As you can see, both TECNO Mobile and Realme put some work in designing their smartphones. The TECNO Spark 5 Pro even comes with a punch-hole screen, while the Realme C15 settles for the traditional waterdrop notch
The Spark Mobile 5 Pro has the shiny and color gradient design that we’ve seen on smartphones for years, which makes it look boring and worn out at this point. The device technically has five different colors, but only two of them made it to the Philippines.
On the other hand, the Realme C15 has a matte textured back surface with geometric gradient design. Realme is known for coming up with new designs on their every release, and they didn’t disappoint us again this time.
The glass-like plastic material on the TECNO device makes it prone to fingerprint marks and, possibly, hairline scratches over time, so you might want to use the clear case it comes with. You won’t be having those issues with the matte surface of the Realme C15, but you might still want to get a protective case since it doesn’t come with one.

The TECNO Spark 5 Pro and Realme C15 have similar displays. They both use IPS panels with HD+ resolution of 1600 x 720 pixels. Sharpness aren’t their strongest suit, but they should do the job fine.
They also have similar sizes, albeit the TECNO phone is marginally bigget at 6.6-inches. This will give you a lot of room for productivity work, gaming, and watching videos.
Both units have single bottom-firing speakers that should be enough for private listening. You can plug in a pair of earphones for a more immersive experience via the headphone jack. The Spark 5 Pro comes with one, but the C15 doesn’t.
The Realme C15 is powered by a 2.3GHz MediaTek Helio G35 processor. A newer gaming-centric chipset than the Helio P22 of the TECNO Spark 5 Pro. Their performance is almost equal, although the Helio G35 do have a marginal lead. They both share the same PowerVR GE8320 GPU, so the gaming performance should be also identical.
Both models have a 4GB/64GB RAM and storage configuration, although the C15 do have a cheaper 3GB/64GB model — albeit, still not as cheap as the Spark 5 Pro. But more on that later.

Both devices have 8-megapixel front-facing cameras, although and the TECNO Spark 5 Pro has a sharper and brighter 16-megapixel f/1.8 camera, versus the 13-megapixel f/2.2 on the latter.
But where the Realme C15 shines is with its 8-megapixel ultra-wide camera. A really useful and significant camera feature, which is missing on the Spark 5 Pro.
The TECNO Spark 5 Pro features a 5,000mAh battery, which is already enough to last you for an entire day or even two. Although, the Realme C15 wins this round thanks to its bigger 6,000mAh capacity.
It also has an 18W fast charger, a rare inclusion on entry-level smartphones. For this price, phones only come with 10W adapters, just like the Spark 5 Pro.
The TECNO Spark 5 Pro had an initial price of Php5,499. But for some reason, it’s currently listed for Php5,990 at their official store in Shopee.
But nonetheless, it’s still cheaper than the Realme C15, where the same 4GB/64GB variant costs Php6,990. Even the cheaper 3GB/64GB is more expensive at Php6,490.
Still, we declare the Realme device as a winner in this race. That’s thanks to its refreshing and imaginative design, flexible cameras, newer processor, larger battery, and faster charging.
