The GTA V was released back in 2013 — seven years have gone by and we’re yet to see a successor, making GTA 6 a long overdue update.
Rockstar Games is known for being very secretive when developing new products. In fact, we never knew any official details about Red Dead Redemption 2 until they officially revealed it in 2018. And for the GTA 6, we’re getting the same treatment.
Although Rockstar Games haven’t released any details, we’re pretty much certain that GTA 6 has been in development for years now. In fact, a previous leak suggests that the game has been in the works since 2014, a year after GTA V came out.
Since then, we’ve been fed with a couple of sketchy leaks and rumors from Reddit, 4chan, and other ‘credible’ sources. The information are so limited that fans are starting to create their own concept about the upcoming open-world game.

This latest one came from a GTA fan on Reddit. It shows a GTA 6 concept map, which could be a dream come true for a lot of GTA fans.
It’s basically a combination of all the Grand Theft Auto games since the 3D universe. It’s an interconnected map of Liberty City, a vague replica of New York City, from the GTA III and GTA IV. We also have GTA Vice City’s take on Miami. Plus GTA V and GTA San Andrea’s take on California, which consists of Los Santos (Los Angeles), Las Venturas (Las Vegas), and San Fierro (San Francisco).
This ambition could be farfetched considering the incredible amount of detail Rockstar put on their games. But considering that GTA V is the second best-selling game of all time, we expect Rockstar to spare no expense on a sequel.
Again, this is just a concept. But it would really be a treat to go back to all the previous GTA maps on a single game.
For now, all we can do is wait and see. And from what it looks like, we’ll have to wait a bit longer as Rockstar Games announced that they will be releasing a remastered version of GTA V for next-gen consoles, instead of introducing an actual sequel.
