Google has had a series of Chrome Experiments, and one of the more interesting ones is the Blob Opera from the Google Arts and Culture page.

The search giant has a lot of interesting things you can do with the Chrome browser. Search’s 3D AR animals, for example, generates a 3D animal in augmented reality. They take it up a notch with the highly entertaining Blob Opera.

Blob Opera is part of Chrome Experiments. As Google explains, Chrome Experiments is a showcase of work by coders who are pushing the boundaries of web technology, creating beautiful, unique web experiences. You’ll find helpful links throughout the site for creating your own experiments, and you can also explore resources like WebGL Globe and our workshop of tools.

Google Blob Opera

Here, you can play with a handful of blobs who sing opera in four different pitches which you can manipulate by pulling them around. Most interesting here is that its a machine learning experiment.

its a fun way to pass the time. You start off with a short tutorial on how to manipulate the blobs. Once you get the hang of it, you can toggle a Christmas theme which will show you a playlist of festive tunes for the blobs to sing. Pulling the blobs around will change their pitch while the others continue singing. If you want to get creative, you can also record your own ensemble as well and share with family and friends.

To make the new year more interesting, go ahead and give Google’s Blob Opera a try.
