The Mi Band 5, Xiaomi’s follow-up to its range of fitness trackers, is recently seen on the brand’s Chinese website.
Compared to its predecessors, it has a 1.1-inch AMOLED display which is 20% bigger. It offers over 1000+ customized dials through the MiFit app. Among the latest dials include Hatsune Miku, SpongeBob, Neon Genesis Evangelion, and Detective Conan. Users may also buy the other 8 straps which are sold separately.
Apart from smart notifications, the fitness band features the six-axis and the PPG heart rate sensors for 24-hour heart rate monitoring. It has added activities to the 11 sports modes which keep track of the user’s type of activity. The additional modes are yoga, rope skipping, rowing, and elliptical exercises.
To improve sleep quality, the band comes with all-day sleep monitoring for monitoring deep and REM sleep, nap quality, and light interference detection via infrared. Health modes such as pressure monitoring and breathing training help to keep check personal stress status, blood pressure, and do breathing exercises during a panic attack.
The band also comes with a plethora of functions for women’s health such as recording and notifying the menstrual cycle and fertility calendar. Its NFC version supports voice assistant Xiao Ai, smart home control, and wireless payment.
On paper, the Mi Band has a battery life of up to 14 days.
Pre-order for the standard version of the Mi Band 5 is now available in China. It retails for CNY 189 and comes with a black band.
