Last Thursday - March 4, 2021 - around 7PM, Chinese tech brand Xiaomi officially launched its all-new Redmi Note 10 Series through a virtual event that was shown to Mi Fans worldwide via Facebook.
The Redmi Note line has given Xiaomi much success in the midrange Android smartphone category in many territories around the world, including India and the Philippines.
The 2021 Xiaomi Redmi Note Series is compromised of four new models, which share more or less the same design identity but actually target different consumers with varying budgets and mobile technology needs.
The company has yet to disclose the official prices of the four models but I would guess they should don similar price tags to their predecessors from 2020, which means that the new smartphones' SRPs could range from PHP 8,000 to PHP 14,000.
Xiaomi Redmi Note 10 Pro is expected to be the most expensive model of the bunch and as such, it is the most powerful in terms of imaging, display, and internal hardware. This one features a 6.67-inch
FullHD+ AMOLED display with 120Hz refresh rate, a Quad Rear Camera module with a whopping 108 MegaPixel main shooter, 16 MegaPixel front-facing camera, Qualcomm Snapdragon 723G processor, and 5,020 mAh battery pack supporting 33W Fast Charging.
Xiaomi Redmi Note 10S has slightly watered down specs compared to the Pro version and because of that, I expect this to also have a bit lower price. 10S sports a 6.43-inch FullHD+ AMOLED display, Quad Rear Cam set-up with a 64MP main shooter, 13 MegaPixel front snapper, MediaTek Helio G95 processor, and a 5,000 mAh battery with 33W fast charging feature. In terms of RAM and ROM, it will have options similar to the Note 10 Pro.
The base model, Xiaomi Redmi Note 10, has the same design identity, display, front-cam, and battery as the 10S. However, it's main rear camera only has 48MP resolution and it has lower RAM and ROM options. As such, I believe this will have more accessible price. Interestingly, the Note 10 is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 678 processor instead of MediaTek G95, which some users may prefer.
Finally, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 10 5G has the least powerful set of specs in this series. It has a 6.5-inch FullHD+ IPS DotDisplay with 90Hz refresh rate, a Triple Rear Camera module with 48MP main shooter, 8MP selfie cam, and 5,000 mAh battery with 18W fast charging support. In terms of RAM and ROM, the options are similar to the Note 10, which I think makes it competitive. However, what's truly amazing about this model is that it is the only one in the bunch to support ultra-fast 5G mobile data speeds, thanks to its MediaTek Dimensity 700 processor, which is one of the most affordable chipsets that enable 5G connectivity in smartphones.
The Xiaomi Redmi Note 10 Series is expected to be launched in key markets around the world, which includes in the Philippines, come the middle or the latter part of March 2021. Stay tuned for updates! In the meantime, here's our technical specifications comparison table featuring the four models.
