We’re only a couple of months away until the iPhone 12 series goes official. This means that leaks and rumors about these devices are starting to become more realistic.
This latest one came from Jon Prosser, a reliable source that shared a couple of accurate leaks in the past. He posted two images on his Twitter account of what appears to be the camera and display settings of the upcoming iPhone 12 Pro Max. It’s from a PVT model (Production Validation Prototype).
In line with the previous rumors, the iPhone 12 series will sport a new LiDAR sensor. It’s basically a more advanced depth sensor that can be used in Augmented Reality-related tasks. Apple introduced this hardware on the iPad Pro 2020.
Other than the LiDAR toggle, the camera settings also show that it can record 240fps slow-mo videos at 4K resolution, enhanced night mode, advanced noise reduction, zoom capabilities, and bit depth video.
Another iPad Pro feature coming to the iPhone is the smooth 120Hz refresh rate. We’ve seen this on Android phones for years like the new Galaxy Note 20 Ultra. It’s nice to see iPhones finally catching up.
The iPhone 12 Pro Max lets you enable High Refresh Rate for the constant 120Hz experience. An Adaptive Refresh Rate toggle is also available that automatically switches to 120Hz from 60Hz, and vice versa, depending on the task running, for improved battery efficiency.
