Realme unveiled its latest 5G smartphone, the realme 7 5G. The device, which is initially available to European and Indian markets, doesn’t just bring 5G at an affordable price but also improves on several specs compared to the vanilla realme 7.
Chief among the improvements is the chipset. The realme 7 5G uses a MediaTek Dimensity 800U with 5G connectivity and dual 5G sim support. Realme said it scored around 340,000+ points on AnTuTu. It’s paired with a Mali-G57 GPU, 6GB LPDDR4x RAM, and 128GB UFS 2.1 storage.
The realme 7 5G also features an improved display. It has the same 6.5-inch full HD+ IPS display but with a smoother 120Hz refresh rate and an ultra-high 180Hz touch sampling rate.
In the camera department, a lower megapixel main camera was used with a 48MP sensor, compared with the previous 64MP. But they managed to retain the 8MP ultra-wide, 2MP monochrome and 2MP macro sensors.
The rest of the realme 7 5G’s specs are pretty much the same from here on out. It has a 16MP punch hole front camera. Battery capacity is 5,000mAh with support for 30W Dart Charge. The fingerprint scanner is embedded on the power button. And lastly, it runs on realme UI based on Android 10.
As for the price, the realme 7 5G will retail for EUR 279, which is roughly around Php 16,000 or USD 332. That makes it one of the most affordable, if not the most affordable, 5G phones.
At this point, there’s no information yet if it will make it to the Philippines. But we’re hoping realme PH surprises us fans for the holidays.
