Mobile app insights provider Apptopia recently released its list of 2020 most downloaded mobile apps and games worldwide. Do note that the data presented includes both from Apple App Store and Google Play Store. The list also includes the number of downloads from lite versions of main apps.

According to the list, the most downloaded mobile game for 2020 goes to Among Us with 264 million downloads worldwide. It was followed by  Subway Surfers with 227 million downloads, and Garena Free Fire at 218 million.

The most downloaded mobile and social networking app in 2020 was TikTok with 850 million downloads. Messaging app WhatsApp lands in second place with 600 million downloads followed by Facebook with 540 million in the third spot. For the social networking app category, Facebook grabs the second spot while Instagram is in third place with 503 million downloads.

TikTok was also named as the highest-grossing mobile app for 2020, earning USD 540 million worldwide. Dating app Tinder and video sharing platform YouTube landed on the second and third spot with annual earnings of USD 513 million and USD 478 million, respectively.
