Elon Musk, the man behind the electric car company, Tesla, and the space firm, SpaceX, sent out a warning that humanity could likely be surpassed by artificial intelligence within the next 5 years.

The statement comes from the notion that an AI boom could potentially take place, exceeding what is humanly possible and at a pace that is beyond comprehension.

“We’re headed toward a situation where AI is vastly smarter than humans and I think that time frame is less than five years from now.”

Being at the forefront of the artificial intelligence scene, the billionaire has been consistent in warning the public against the threat of the technology in recent years. Furthermore, he also cites how people find the notion less apprehensive to people, even those whom he deemed as “very smart,” pointing hubris at the cause of the issue.
