Some Filipino users of Messenger have experienced problems using the messaging app on their mobile devices and web browsers.
Philippine-based Messenger users cannot send or receive personal and group messages, through the platform. We also encountered trouble sending messages, having the words No internet Connection in our Messenger chat box despite having a stable internet connection.
As spotted on Downdetector, an independent website for detecting outages of various web services and networks, there have been 3,862 reports of Facebook Messenger’s outage as of December 10, 2020, at 7:21 PM.
Other countries in Europe, the UK, Poland, Australia, and more are also affected by the same issue based on the outage map of Downdetector. The most affected areas in the Philippines are Cebu City and Metro Manila.
Facebook is yet to release a statement regarding the matter. Stay tuned to our page for updates.
