Google just launchd two new products from its in-house smartphone brand. Meet the Pixel 5 and 4A 5G.
Unlike most Chinese brands, Google prioritizes experience over specs. This is why both the Google Pixel 5 and 4A 5G will only feature a Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G processor, instead of the flagship Snapdragon 865.
It may not be the fastest processor around, but it’s very much enough to provide a complete and smooth performance. The best part is, it should consume less battery and still has 5G connectivity. Both devices will also the firsts to ship with Android 11 out of the box.
The Google Pixel 5 removes the telephoto camera of its predecessor in favor of a — honestly more useful — 16-megapixel ultra-wide lens. Google is adding its camera software magic an AI algorithms to enable zoom shots using the 12.2-megapixel primary camera, which has a bright f/1.7 aperture and OIS.
You can check the Pixel 5 full specs list below and, as you can tell, we’re not getting an XL model this year. The Google Pixel 5 has a price of USD699 (around Php33,900) and will be available in select markets starting October 15.
The Google Pixel 4a 5G is essentially the XL version of the Pixel 4a. Other than getting a 5G-equipped processor, it also has a larger 6.2-inch OLED screen. Besides its processor, it also shares the same 12.2-megapixel and 16-megapixel ultra-wide cameras from the Pixel 5.
But unlike the Pixel 5, the Pixel 4a has a smaller 3,885mAh battery, no wireless charging, no 90Hz refresh rate, only has 6GB of RAM instead of 8GB, and no dust or water resistance on its polycarbonate body.
The Google Pixel 4a 5G retails for USD499 (around Php24,200) and will be available starting November 5. Just like its predecessors, it may only arrive in the Philippines through various sellers in the gray market.
