Huawei pushes through and launched its latest flagship line, the Huawei Mate 40 series.
The distinct changes on the Huawei Mate 40, 40 Pro, and 40 Pro Plus are their designs. It now has a circular halo ring design on the back for the cameras. They are also IP68
Both models also have stereo speakers that have 150% stronger bass response. They also have OLED screens with smooth 90Hz refresh rate.
They will come with vegan leather options, and nano-tech ceramic for the Mate 40 Pro Plus model.
All models will also be powered by the 5nm Kirin 9000 processor, which Huawei claims is 10% faster than the Snapdragon 865 Plus in terms of CPU and 52% faster in terms of GPU performance.
The Mate 40 Pro models will also come with 66W wired fast charging and 50W wireless charging.
Of course, the Mate 40 series will have killer cameras. They all come with 50-megapixel SuperSensing selfie cameras, with the Pro models sporting a front-facing ultra-wide camera and the Pro Plus bragging a 10x periscope lens.
They are also the first cameras with an anti-distortion feature for the ultra-wide camera. Pretty neat.
Huawei is also bringing new tricks to its latest EMUI 11. One of them is the new Eyes On Display (EOD), which shows a picture you’ve taken on the Always-On display feature. Plus, a couple of hands-free air gestures.
There’s also a new multi-screen collaboration, which lets you use up to three different apps side-by-sides via a laptop screen. Huawei’s Celia voice assistant has also improved with more language support and features.
Huawei has also introduced a couple of new accessories for the Mate 40 series. The most interesting one is the case that has a built-in ring light.
The Huawei Mate 40 8GB/128GB has a price of EUR899 (around Php51,700), Mate 40 Pro for EUR1,199 (around Php68,900) for the 8GB/256GB, while the Mate 40 Pro Plus comes in at EUR1,399 (around Php80,400) with 12GB/256GB. Bear in mind that those are direct price conversions and their official prices in the Philippines will be lower once it’s announced.
