A couple of months ago, we got our hands-on Kingston A2000 NVMe PCIe SSD, which we used to upgrade our old gaming laptop. This time, we got the Kingston KC2500 NVMe PCIe SSD which is designed for high-performance systems. We tested it out to see how it performs, and how much improvement we’re going to get in terms of performance.

The Kingston KC2500 NVMe PCIe SSD comes in an M.2 2280 form factor and is designed for the desktop, workstations, and high-performance computing (HPC) systems. It features the latest Gen 3.0 x 4 controller and 96-layer 3D TLC NAND, boasting speeds of up to 3,500MB/s read and up to 2,900MB/s write. It comes in four capacities: 250GB, 500GB, 1TB, and 2TB.

Check out the benchmark tests below in comparison with the Kingston A2000 we tested last time.

For CrystalDiskMark 7, we’re getting sequential read speeds of 3,497.36 MB/s and sequential write speeds of 2,453.10 MB/s. That’s a huge speed bump compared to the readings we’re getting from the A2000 which is 2,154.9 MB/s read and 1,963.1 MB/s write.

Next, we have ATTO Disk Benchmark. For the KC2500, we’re getting up to 3.28GB/s in read speeds and 2.39 GB/s in write speeds. That’s also a huge difference from the results we’re getting on the A2000 with up to 2.03 GB/s in read speeds and up to 1.78GB in write speeds.

If you’re still using an HDD or running on an old SSD, the Kingston KC2500 is worth getting if you’re in need of a speed upgrade.

The Kingston KC2500 is backed by a limited five-year warranty and free technical support. It is available in authorized sellers nationwide, as well as online via the Kingston official Lazada page (https://www.lazada.com.ph/shop/kingston1/). Check out the prices below:
