OPPO announced the Reno4 and Reno4 Pro smartphones in June. Now that it is set to launch in the Philippines in August, let’s do a quick tour of the Reno4 in our first impressions below.

Looking at the front, the display has a punch-hole on the upper left of the screen that houses the 32MP main and secondary cameras. The bezels are pretty slim all around except for the chin area. Based on the specs released in China, it has a 6.4-inch FHD+ (2400 x 1080) AMOLED display at 409ppi.

On the left are the volume buttons and SIM card slot, while on the right is the power/lock button. They’re clicky, solid, and easy to reach since they’re placed near the center of the frame.

At the bottom are the loudspeaker, USB Type-C port, primary microphone, and 3.5mm audio port, which is good news for those who prefer wired headphones.

Found at the back are the quad-rear cameras consisting of the 48MP High-Definition main, 8MP F2.2 Ultra Wide-Angle, 2MP mono/portrait lens, and a fourth lens which we believe is for macro. This is weird as the model announced in China in June only mentions three rear cameras.

Just like the previous Reno devices, it’s premium thanks to the metal frame. The back is also designed by the brand new “Reno Glow”. The unit we have is called Galactic Blue which look like frosted glass.

OPPO is well-known for producing good smartphone cameras, so now here are some sample shots that we take from the OPPO Reno4.
