Most true wireless earbuds today are shipped with their own protective, charging cases, but what if you could have a smartphone that houses a pair of truly wireless earbuds? Xiaomi has filed a patent based on that concept.
Basically, think of the Galaxy Note series, but with earbuds instead of a stylus. As shown in the renders by LetsGoDigital, the wireless earbuds somewhat resemble the Apple AirPods or the Xiaomi Mi True Wireless Earphones 2 but with a hinged design so they can be stored neatly into the phone.
Except for the novel earbud housing, the phone seems to have a fairly standard design. But notably, it has another button besides the power button and the volume rocker. Curiously, it doesn’t have a notch and a selfie camera. Perhaps the camera’s under the screen.
As it’s just a patent, it’s possible Xiaomi may not follow up and release a smartphone based on such design. Let’s hope it does.
