The OnePlus 9R has been introduced as a cheaper option to the company’s also-new flagship line.
Launched alongside the OnePlus 9 and 9 Pro, the OnePlus 9R is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 870. It may not be as powerful as the Snapdragon 888 of the former, but still in the high-end segment.
The Hasselblad cameras didn’t make it. Instead, it uses the same cameras that the OnePlus 8T has. There’s the 48-megapixel main shooter with OIS, 16-megapixel ultra-wide camera, 5-megapixel macro, and 2-megapixel mono.
There’s a punch-hole on the top-left screen for the 16-megapixel selfie snapper. Speaking of which, it has the first-gen Fluid AMOLED 6.55-inch FHD+ display with 120Hz refresh rate and 240Hz touch sampling — similar to the vanilla OnePlus 9.
Unlike the flagship models, the 9R lacks wireless charging. Albeit, it inherited its 4,500mAh battery and Warp Charge 65 charging.
The design looks similar to other OnePlus 9 devices. This one has Corning Gorilla Glass 5 in front and back with an aluminum frame.
Those in India will get first dibs on the OnePlus 9R for a starting price of INR39,999 (around Php26,800) for the 8GB/128GB model and INR43,999 (around Php29,500) for the 12GB/256GB. Its release details in markets like the Philippines are yet to be revealed.
