Midrange-priced smartphones have become really feature-packed that they’re almost competing with the more expensive flagship ones.
Xiaomi’s latest one, the POCO F3, boasts several top-tier specs for around Php20,000. Primarily, a flagship processor, a feature that you can only see on devices almost twice its price.
Since it’s in a similar price range, it will be competing with the OnePlus Nord in the Philippines. It may not have a flagship processor that the former has, but it does come with a couple of things that the former have, especially in the camera department.
So the question is, which between the two is right for you? We find out in our POCO F3 versus OnePlus Nord specs comparison.

Both the POCO F3 and OnePlus Nord are sandwiched with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 and held together by an aluminum frame. So build quality-wise, they should be the same.
As per the design, we’ll let you decide. Personally, the POCO F3 has a more distinct look, especially the geometrical shapes of the Deep Ocean Blue color. It’s also a bit thinner, albeit heavier than the Nord.
The POCO F3 has a larger 6.67-inch AMOLED screen, with a faster 120Hz refresh rate and a more responsive 360Hz refresh rate — clearly beating what the OnePlus Nord has.
Xiaomi also nailed the audio department by having a stereo speaker setup while the competition settles for a single one.
We have a clear winner here. The Snapdragon 765G of the OnePlus Nord may also have 5G connectivity and a flagship-like performance, but it’s nothing against a real one.
The POCO F3 has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 processor, which also has a 3.2GHz clock speed, the highest on any mobile chipset. It also has a more powerful Adreno 650 processor for gaming and faster UFS 3.1 storage.
This is probably the only round where the OnePlus Nord wins. As you can see, despite having similar 48-megapixel main cameras, the Nord has a brighter f/1.7 aperture and optical image stabilization (OIS).
It also has a sharper 32-megapixel selfie camera and an 8-megapixel ultra-wide for taking group shots and vacation shots without the need for a selfie stick.
Another win for the POCO F3. As you can see, it has a 4,520mAh battery, which should last a couple of hours longer than the 4,115mAh battery.
But since they share similar charging speeds, getting a full charge on the OnePlus Nord shall be faster.
I guess we have a clear winner here. As you can see, the POCO F3 has a better screen, battery, charging, and of course, a flagship processor — all while having a cheaper price tag than the OnePlus Nord. Even the latter’s top-tier model is cheaper than the former’s base model.
With that, if you want to get your money’s worth, go with the POCO F3, a flagship smartphone with a midrange price. Both devices are now available in the Philippines.
