TikTok has recently built a website, along with a Twitter account, for addressing rumors and misinformation.

Dubbed as the TikTok Information Hub, the website contains official statements from the short video sharing platform regarding various issues such as security, misinformation, transparency, fair competition, election interference, and more. The dedicated channel will provide facts in real-time to improve the platform “as a home for expression, entertainment, and connection”.

The initiative aims to build trust with the TikTok community, presenting facts “from various leading cybersecurity, media, and academic sources.”

According to the new website, its US user data is stored in Virginia with a back-up in Singapore, employing strict controls on employee access. The company also clarified that it has never provided any US user data to the Chinese government.

Tiktok also launched a new Twitter account for sharing updates and news in real-time.

Currently, the company continues to keep the TikTok community safe by improving its security and integrating tools in the platform.
