Smartphone brands have already released tons of devices in the past months, from entry-level, to mid-range, to flagship. Pretty sure that some of you are thinking of upgrading to the latest device, and if you’re looking for the most powerful currently available, here are the top flagship smartphones for the first half of 2020.

Author’s note: The flagship devices listed below are those that were officially launched in the Philippines.

OnePlus 8 Pro

If you’re a device with a QHD+ resolution and a smooth 120Hz refresh rate, the OnePlus 8 Pro is the one to get. It has a 48MP quad-rear cameras, Snapdragon 865 CPU, Adreno 650 GPU, up to 12GB LPDDR5 RAM, up to 256GB UFS 3.0, 5G connectivity, 4,510mAh battery.

OnePlus 8

If you want the power of the OnePlus 8 Pro but at a lower price, you can go with the OnePlus 8. It might have a lower Full HD+ resolution and 90Hz refresh rate compared to its big brother, but it is still a great display. It also features a 48MP triple rear cameras, Snapdragon 865 CPU, Adreno 650 GPU, up to 12GB LPDDR4X RAM, up to 256GB UFS 3.0, 5G connectivity, and 4,300mAh battery.

Apple iPhone SE 2020

Apple reincarnated the iPhone 8 and packed it with new internals and called it the iPhone SE 2020. Although the most affordable iPhone in Apple’s current lineup, the A13 Bionic chip, which is found in the iPhone 11 series, makes it a flagship device. Some of the specs are not that impressive though, like the 4.7-inch HD display, 12MP rear camera, and 7MP front camera, but it’s still a good iPhone to get if you’re on a budget.

OPPO Find X2 Pro

OPPO’s flagship takes in the form of the Find X2 Pro. Great device, but the price is a bit hefty.

Huawei P40 Pro

Let’s take a look at Huawei’s reasonably-priced flagship devices — the P40 Series. The big brother here is the P40 Pro. It has a 6.58-inch FHD+ OLED display, HiSilicon Kirin 990 5G, Mali-G76 MP16 GPU, 8GB of RAM, up to 256GB of storage, 50MP quad-rear cameras, 5G connectivity, and 4,200mAh battery. If you want the best photography-centric smartphone in DXOMark’s book, this is it.

Huawei P40

The P40 Pro’s small brother is the P40. It has a 6.1-inch Full HD+ OLED display, Kirin 990 5G CPU, Mali-G76 GPU, 8GB of RAM, 128GB of storage, 50MP triple-rear cameras, 32MP front camera, 5G connectivity, and 3,800mAh battery. It’s also priced than most flagships, which makes this a competitive offering.

Huawei Mate 30 Pro 5G

Huawei’s Mate 30 series launched in 2019, but it was only in 2020 that the company released the 5G variant of the Mate 30 Pro in the Philippines.
