The University of the Philippines Open University (UPOU) is conducting an open program aimed at training teachers how to bring their profession in an online setting.
The decision came in light of the restrictions posed on holding actual physical classes posed by COVID-19 and as fulfillment of RA 10650 (Open and Distance Learning Act).
The RA 10650 is a mandate to UPOU in aiding the various national and educational entities in coming up with distance education programs.
Born from the drive, UPOU is offering an important set of online courses as well as webinars that are open for public to pursue.

In addition to teachers, who are critical in the education of the country’s population, the offered program also caters for people in other professions, especially administrators and support staffs that employ open and distance learning (ODeL).
Unknown to many, RA 10650 has been in fulfillment since 2014, but is only brought to attention given the demand of the present situation.
