Vivo is leading the rank of smartphone vendors in the Philippines based on market share in the second quarter of 2020, according to research firm, Canalys.

At 21% market share and a year-on-year growth of +18%, Vivo is currently on top compared to other established brands like Samsung, OPPO, and Huawei, which occupy the second, fourth, and fifth spot, respectively.

All three aforementioned brands saw a dip to their year-on-year growth percentage by up to two digits. OPPO saw the greatest fall at -43%, followed by Huawei at -32%, and, finally, Samsung at -7%.

This is an amazing feat for a brand, which only saw a single product launched for the year—Vivo V19 Neo—due to the ongoing pandemic.

Another surprising presence is the relatively young brand, Realme, which got a place in the ranking at the third spot after having an 18% market share as well as a year-on-year growth of +254%.
