Aside from smartphones, Xiaomi has been launching various products for its ecosystem. Recently, the Chinese tech brand added several items to its portfolio. These include Mi Bands, True Wireless Speakers, and a TV stick.
The Xiaomi has finally launched the new Mi Smart Band 5 globally. The biggest changes in the product in comparison to its predecessor are the screen and the the charging cable. Unfortunately, it still lacks NFC, an SpO2 or blood oxygen tracking, and a voice assistant.
Let’s talk about the display first. The new Xiaomi Mi Smart Band 5 comes with a larger 1.1-inch screen from the 0.95-inch display of the Mi Band 4. It also comes with new widgets that allow you to choose your indicators on the home screen. Heart Rate monitor on the other hand is now 50% more accurate.
Another major upgrade is its charging cable. With the new cable, you may charge the device without removing it from your wrist band. This makes it convenient and easier especially for people who use metal bands.
Likewise, its battery remains at 14 hours. You may also use it for swimming as it is water-resistant. There’s also a camera remote shutter that allows you to snap a photo even from afar.
It can also identify if you’re stressed and will help you deal with it bg giving you breathing exercises. Its sleep tracker can now track your naps. There’s also an addition of female health tracking.
The band will be available in six silicone bands. The Xiaomi Mi Smart Band 5 retails for a price of EUR40 or roughly around Php2,260 before taxes.
