The months-worth of leaks and rumors ends now that the iPhone 12 series have been finally made official. They are the first iPhones to come with 5G connectivity and the latest 5nm A14 Bionic Chip.
First, we have the new iPhone 12, which has flatter edges, similar to the iPhone 5s, while the back looks identical to the iPhone 11. There’s the 6.1-inch OLED screen with a new Corning Ceramic Shield and comes in Black, White, Red, Green, and Blue.
There’s the identical 12-megapixel wide and 12-megapixel ultra-wide lenses with larger apertures and lenses. It also comes with Computational Photography, improved Night Mode that works on selfies, and night mode timelapse.
Apple has also introduced the MagSafe for the iPhone, which comes with magnets to improve wireless charging. This will enable a slew of new accessories for the iPhone.
We then have the iPhone 12 mini with a 5.4-inch screen. It has all the features of the iPhone 12, but only smaller. You can check their full specs list below.
The iPhone 12 mini starts at USD699 (around Php34,000) for the 64GB model, USD749 (around Php36,500) for the 128GB, and USD849 (around Php41,400) for the 256GB. On the other hand, the iPhone 12 begins at USD799 (around Php38,900) for 64GB, USD849 (around Php41,400) for 128GB, and USD949 (around Php46,200) for the 256GB model. Their official prices and availability in the Philippines are yet to be announced, so stay tuned for that.
Of course, we also have the iPhone 12 Pro and 12 Pro Max. Again, has an identical design to the last year’s Pro model, but with the new flat corners. There’s also the new Ceramic Shield screen and MagSafe. Plus, an IP68 water resistance. They come in Graphite, Silver, Gold, and the new Pacific Blue color.
They come with Super Retina XDR larger screens, 6.1-inch and 6.7-inch, respectively. On the downside, neither iPhone models will come with earphones and an adapter in the box. The only accessory you’d be getting on its new, thinner box is a Type-C to Lightning charging cable.
There’s the same 12-megapixel main camera, 12-megapixel ultra-wide with a larger aperture, a 12-megapixel telephoto lens, and the iPad Pro’s LiDAR sensor. It has improved software camera features and new HDR and Dolby Vision video recording and editing.
It’s important to note that the iPhone 12 series will no longer come with a charging adapter and earpods, because of environmental concerns.
The iPhone 12 Pro has a price of USD999 (around Php48,700) for the 128GB model, USD1,099 (around Php53,500) for the 256GB, and USD1,299 (around Php63,300) for the 512GB model. Meanwhile, the iPhone 12 Pro Max begins at USD1,099 (around Php53,500) for the 128GB, USD1,199 (around Php58,400) for 256GB, and USD1,399 (around Php68,200) for 512GB. Prices are before taxes in the country. Their availability in PH are yet to be announced.
