Design

Weather a phone looks good or not will depend on your personal preference. But to help you decide which one is better, we’ll give you the facts.

The Realme 6 is available in Comet White and Comet Blue, The namesake came from the unique reflection on the back, which looks like a striking comet from the universe.

On the other hand, the POCO M2 Pro inherits the design of its Redmi siblings. We’ll spare you the mouthful names: it’s available in Black, Blue, and Green.

But if you’re all about durability, then you might prefer the M2 Pro better. It’s sandwiched with a sturdy Gorilla Glass 5, while the former only has Gorilla Glass 3 on the front and plastic on the back. Although, both devices come with splash resistance for minor water contact.

Display

One of the Realme 6 and 6 Pro’s bragging right is their smooth 90Hz refresh rate. It will basically make everything smoother and faster than the traditional 60Hz screen that normal smartphones like the POCO M2 Pro have.

Both devices has a similar size of about 6.6-inches. But, it goes without saying that the Realme 6 won this round. We also like how its punch-hole is in the corner, instead of in the middle where it’s a little distracting.

Performance

The Snapdragon 720G of the POCO M2 Pro is newer than the Helio G90T of the Realme 6. But despite that fact, benchmark tests reveal that MediaTek’s mid-range chipset is still more powerful than Qualcomm’s.

Partner that with the Realme 6’s 90Hz screen and you’d be getting a faster and smoother performance out of this.

But since the Snapdragon 720G is the newer chipset, it gets to have the latest Bluetooth 5.1. It’s also built in a smaller 8nm process, while the Helio G90T is at 12nm. This translates to better power efficiency and less overheating.

Camera

Another win for the Realme 6. As you saw in our specs comparison table above, it boasts a 64-megapixel main camera, while the POCO M2 Pro only has a 48-megapixel main sensor. It also comes with a 120fps slow-mo selfie that’s cool to play with.

But if you really want to get the POCO device, and you don’t mind settling with a 48-megapixel main camera, then you’d be glad to know that both phones share identical 16-megapixel selfie cameras, 8-megapixel ultra-wide, and extra macro and depth sensors.

Battery

Here’s a clear win for the POCO M2 Pro. As you can see, it has a bigger 5,000mAh battery than the 4,300mAh of the Realme 6. Since it uses a regular 60Hz screen, you can expect even better longevity out of this.

Xiaomi also won by an inch with its 33W fast charger, while the competition has 30W.

Conclusion

The Realme 6 offers a faster screen, better cameras, and a processor that should handle most games and heavy workload better. The best part is, at a starting price of INR12,999, which cost less than the INR13,999 SRP of the competition. Both comes with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage.

However, the extra INR1,000 on the POCO M2 Pro entitles you to a sturdier build, bigger battery, faster charging, and a processor that is — although may lag behind in performance a little — more power-efficient and has newer connectivity features like Bluetooth 5.1, NFC, and even an IR blaster.

We still don’t know if the POCO M2 Pro will arrive in the Philippines, but considering that it’s bigger brother F2 Pro is now here, there’s a good chance that it will also come soon.
